About the Book Club
Bismillah was solatu was salaam 'ala Rosulillah.
Al-Fihriya Book Club by Wardah Books is a book club for women. The first book we are discussing is Imam Muhammad Sa'id Ramadan al-Buti's Depression & Anxiety: Causes and Treatment According to the Qur'an.
Format of the Book Club
- There are ten chapters in the book.
- We intend to go through one chapter every week.
- Participants are highly encouraged to read the book (or at least the chapter to be discussed) before coming.
- Ustadha Syariati Sulaiman will be heading the book club, inshaAllah.
- We will be listening to a commentary on the book and, thereafter, have a discussion on the ideas presented in the book.
- The book club will be conducted in English.
- Tentative dates are as follows:
Venue
- The book club will be held at Level 2 of Wardah Books, accessible only by stairs.
- It will be floor-seating, with a handful of chairs available for those who need them.
- Please do your prayers at Masjid Sultan before coming (if needed).
- There is no online session.
Payment
- The book club is free, but we will be circulating a contribution box during the event.

- We will send the RSVP form every Monday via the Whatsapp group so you may confirm your attendance for the week. We will also send any updates to this group.

About Ustadha Syariati Sulaiman
Ustazah Syariati Sulaiman is a professional mother of three boys, freelance ustazah and public speaker. She is passionate about supporting women from all walks of life through Islamic Knowledge & Faith. She has been teaching women for almost 10 years now and truly enjoys making connections and building a sisterhood! She studied Islam in Damascus, Syria after finishing O'levels and got a Diploma in Islamic and Arabic Knowledge. In 2013, she graduated with a Degree in Islamic Knowledge and Heritage from IIUM.
