Seekers Book Club: Anxious Generation

Seekers Book Club: Anxious Generation

About the Book

A local and international bestseller, The Anxious Generation argues that the rise of smartphones, social media, overprotective parenting in the real world, and underprotective parenting in the digital world have led to a "rewiring" of childhood and a rise in mental illness among youths.

The book calls itself an "essential investigation into the collapse of youth mental health". It also lays down clear calls to action towards a healthier, freer and more meaningful adolescence for today's youth and generations to come.

About Seekers Book Club

Seekers Book Club by Maktaba Books (formerly known as A Shared Space Book Club) aims to bring together individuals from different backgrounds to read various books from an Islamic, Singaporean, and/or Southeast Asian lens. Whether the text is secular or set in an unfamiliar culture, there is always something within a book that can resonate with the Muslim faith.

That space of seeking commonality is what drives this book club. With each participant’s unique experience and perspective grounded in religion and identity, we discuss our thoughts and perspectives based on the pages of a book.

We look forward to seeing you there!
