I've been a bookworm for as long as I can remember. As a child I would often disappear for hours on end in fictional worlds. As I got older, I began to read more non-fiction in a bid to understand the world we live in. These days, the books I reach out for are about the world within, and in preparation of the world that is to come. Books are gateways to a different place, a different time, a different mind, a different you. Alhamdulillah. |

The Millennium Discoursesby Etsko Schuitema Recommended to me by Ibrahim around 10 years ago (before I worked at Wardah), this book changed my outlook on God and on life completely, and was crucial in my "hijrah" journey. I still recommend this book to anyone who will give me the time of day. If you're in a rut or in a crucial crossroad of your life, read this! |

Our Master Muhammad ﷺby Imam Abdallah Sirajuddin al-Husayni One of the first few titles on the Prophet ﷺ that I picked up, it remains one of my favourites. The magnum opus of Shaykh Abdullah Sirajuddin al-Husayni, the book somehow exudes his love for the Prophet ﷺ and embraces us all with it so much so that we can't help but fall in love with the Prophet ﷺ too, inshaAllah. A magnificent work, written by a shaykh aptly nicknamed the 'Pole of Prophetic Love'. |

Book of Wisdoms: Kitab Al-Hikam, a Collection of Sufi Aphorismsby Shaykh Ibn Ata Illah al-Iskandari Don't be intimidated by the thickness of the book! It is actually made up of concise and clear explanations by Shaykh Abdullah Gangohi on the illuminating aphorisms by Imam Ibn Ataillah al-Iskandari. Covering a range of themes from repentance to companionship to spiritual lights, this is a great book to pick up for 5 minutes each morning to give you food for thought for the rest of the day. |

Fatima the Great Daughter of Prophet Muhammad ﷺby Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri I grew up knowing virtually nothing about the Ahl Beit, the family of the Prophet ﷺ. Having spent some time in Tareem, I came home with a deeper appreciation towards having love for the Ahl Beit, and even more so towards Sayyidah Fatimah az-Zahra RA. While Necklace of Pearls is a wonderful read (and a beautiful book to gift too!), this book by Dr Tahir ul-Qadri is one of the more comprehensive titles on Sayyidah Fatimah that is available to us in the English world. |

Signs on the Horizonsby Michael Sugich One of the advise given by our teachers on how to be a better Muslim is to sit with the men of God, or if we're unable to, then at least read about them. This book is one such book; it is a compilation of memories by Michael Sugich based on his meetings with great men who live for God. If you like stories of inspirational individuals, this is the book to read. |
