About the Author
Ustaz Muhammad Hamdan bin Rahmat holds a BSc in Physics from the National University of Singapore and a BA in Islamic Studies from UIKA–Al-Zuhri. He also completed an MPhil at RZS-CASIS, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, with a dissertation entitled Habib Abu Bakr’s Taḥawwulāt and Its Significance. Alongside his formal studies, he has studied a range of traditional Islamic disciplines, including theology, Shāfiʿī fiqh, ḥadīth and its sciences, uṣūl al-fiqh, Qurʾanic sciences, taṣawwuf, and Arabic.
He has studied Fiqh al-Taḥawwulāt since 2013, beginning with al-Ḥabīb Aḥmad bin ʿUmar al-Kāf, son-in-law of al-Ḥabīb Abū Bakr al-ʿAdanī, and later directly with al-Ḥabīb Abū Bakr during his visit to Singapore. Al-Ḥabīb Abū Bakr also granted him ijāzah to teach and translate his works.
